Sports Premium Funding
The Government provides Sports Premium Funding to all schools comprising of an £10,000 lump sum and £10 per pupil in Years 1 - 6. The premium must be spent by schools on making additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of all pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
We are fortunate to have access to Go Well's (formally known as Sedgefield Sports Partnership) extensive provision and we ensure that the children participate in as many events as possible. Our school teams are very successful and we have a number of children in school competing at a very high level (including successfully in national competitions). Participation in a range of sports and enjoying physical activity is very important to us. Our newsletters and Twitter feed will provide an indication of what we have been up to recently.

Swimming
Year 3 children have weekly swimming lessons during the Autumn and Summer Terms. Year 4 children have weekly lessons during the Spring Term. Any child in Year 5 or Year 6 still unable to meet the criteria below (set out in the National Curriculum) attends lessons in the Summer Term.
100% of the Year 6 children (2023-24) could swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25m. 90.9% could use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]. 84.8% could perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
